UPYNĖS: On the Other Shore

People have always looked at the water and asked themselves, “What’s ON THE OTHER SHORE?”.

ON THE OTHER SHORE, people have always looked at the water and asked themselves, “What’s ON THE OTHER SHORE?”.

ON THE OTHER SHORE moldered myths and legends, to THE OTHER SHORE led dreams, expectations, and hopes.

ON THE OTHER SHORE the ancestors, that we no longer remember, were laid to rest. ON THE OTHER SHORE the stories, that we no longer know, lived on.

Separated families have settled down ON THE OTHER SHORE, old friendships broke and new connections were made ON THE OTHER SHORE.

The roads to THE OTHER SHORE meandered along rivers and billowed across seas and oceans.

And even today, for the ones fleeing famine, suffering, and war, the hope flickers ON THE OTHER SHORE.

ON THE OTHER SHORE – ON THE OTHER SHORE.

Each of us has at least once said to ourselves, “A new tomorrow awaits ON THE OTHER SHORE”.

It’s difficult to travel to THE OTHER SHORE, only the most stubborn among the bravest went on an adventure ON THE OTHER SHORE.

ON THE OTHER SHORE, the path to shore was lit by lighthouses.

ON THE OTHER SHORE, the ships moored the docks.

ON THE OTHER SHORE, the bridges started and ended.

ON THE OTHER SHORE, armies with their battle eyes gazed upon THE OTHER SHORE.

Sometimes the others hid from us ON THE OTHER SHORE.

The two shores looked at each other for hundreds of years and thought, “It’s better ON THE OTHER SHORE, it’s not the same ON THE OTHER SHORE”.

ON THE OTHER SHORE lived people, different from us.

ON THE OTHER SHORE lived people, the same as us.

ON THE OTHER SHORE they waved at us, ON THE OTHER SHORE they called for us, ON THE OTHER SHORE they wrote us letters,

ON THE OTHER SHORE, they always waited for ships returning from THE OTHER SHORE.
